Our favorite touch-and-feel books to promote language development!

We have posted many times about books and how beneficial they are to language development! However, book time isn’t just about reading a story! There is a chance that your little one has little interest in listening to a story or the actual words in a book right now. It’s okay! What is essential at this young age is to develop a positive relationship with books! Often, that means simply exploring and interacting with books in their own way.⁣

🌈 Touch-and-feel books are ideal for allowing that exploration to happen! You don’t need a story or even words in the book! Let your child enjoy the different sounds, textures, and moving parts of the book and simply talk about what is happening. ⁣

“So soft!”⁣
“Big!”⁣
“Open! Shut!”⁣
“Touch!”⁣

💕Much can be said while looking at any book, but adding a sensory component is another way to engage and explore! Try not to worry so much about the story and think about all the ways you and your baby can look at books and enjoy them!⁣
